[WATCH] Netflix Boots Up a Cursed Vintage Video Game in Trailer for ‘Choose of Die’

On Tuesday, Netflix released the official trailer for its upcoming original horror film “Choose of Die.”

Directed by Toby Meakins and written by Simon Allen, “Choose or Die” tells of a young coder who unleashes a hidden curse after firing up a lost 80s survival horror game called “Curs>r.” Altering reality, the game forces players to make terrifying decisions that have real-world consequences, some of which are deadly.

“Choose or Die” features the voice talents of Freddy Krueger actor Robert Englund, who, from the trailer, appears to be the game’s narrator. A nod to the Freddy actor is even featured in the first scene in the trailer where an “A Nightmare On Elm Street” poster is prominently displayed above a desk as the game boots up. Englund is credited as “Self” on the IMDb page for the film, so it’s unclear if he appears in the movie or simply lends his voice talents to the game.

Rounding out the cast are Asa Butterfield, Iola Evans, Eddie Marsan, Kate Fleetwood, Ryan Gage, Angela Griffin, and Joe Bolland.

“Choose or Die” is set to premiere on Netflix on April 15.
