On Friday, Netflix will release the first film in its highly anticipated “Fear Street” trilogy, a new trio of horror films adapted from R.L. Stine’s best-selling teen horror book series. Ahead of its release Netflix has released the first five minutes of the film.
The first film in the trilogy takes us back to 1994 and opens up in the Shadyside mall where we meet Heather, played by Maya Hawke, as she’s closing up for the night at a B. Dalton book store. But she soon finds she’s not the only one pulling a late-night shift at the mall. Check out the first five minutes below:
If the opening scene from the new Netflix trilogy is any indication of what we’re in for, this series is going to have a great 90s slasher vibe, have a killer soundtrack, and the first film is going to have some serious nostalgia for those of us who grew up as teens in the 90s.
The “Fear Street” trilogy, tells the story of a group of teenagers who discover that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. The trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside’s sinister history, which spans three centuries.
“Fear Street Part 1: 1994” will debut on Netflix on Friday, July 2, 2021.
