FX has released the first full official trailer for American Horror Story season nine. Last month we got the show’s teaser sans any of the series’ stars, but the new trailer for “AHS: 1984” introduces us to the characters and their dynamic along with some slight backstory on possible season villain “Mr. Jingles.”
There are some additional interesting plot points that appear in the new trailer, particularly in the form of some common horror tropes. The new trailer suggests that the core characters of season nine hit someone with their van on the way up to the camp. We also learn of an escaped mental patient named Mr. Jingles who allegedly slaughtered people at the camp in the past. It continues to feel like show creator Ryan Murphy is giving us way too much up front, which is why I feel like there is going to be some sort of major twist when the show debuts on September 18. Or perhaps, we’re just going to get a fun slasher for season nine. Check out the trailer below and decide for yourself.
