All Hallows Geek is a passion project two years in the making. The idea of All Hallows Geek has gone through various iterations and I finally decided to kick it off as a blog and see where it went from there.  All Hallows Geek was born out of the desire to create a site for people who love Halloween pop culture, and horror, but don’t feel completely served by the big name blogs or news sites dedicated to these subjects.  These themes have been a part of my being for as long as I can remember and came through occasionally on my personal blog Musings For A Darkened Room, but I never felt it was the right outlet.  You can see a couple of those pieces below:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Ogres – Where I compared the likeness of the turtles in the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies to Shrek.
FRED: A Taylor Swift and Freddy Kruger Mashup – Where I parodied Taylor Swift’s Red album and her merchandising deal with Cracker Barrel to turn your wildest dreams into nightmares.
Or even The Christmas Toy Story, where I break down the similarities between the 1986 Jim Henson Christmas special The Christmas Toy and Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story.
So for over a year now I had been sitting on the idea of All Hallows Geek. Â A new online destination where I would share some of my own horror, geek, Halloween and pop culture related creations with the world, but also share the latest news and findings on books, comics, food, games, movies, music, TV and more that would appeal to all the freaks and geeks like me.
So if you enjoyed any of the above examples from the past, I hope you’ll stick around for what I have planned for the future. Â This is starting as a website, but I envision the All Hallows Geek brand becoming so much more and expanding across a number of other mediums. Â So join me won’t you, as I try to put a little bit of “Eek” in your geek!
