On Wednesday, Max released a new brand spot showcasing new footage from upcoming series and documentaries arriving on HBO and Max in the coming year. The spot features new footage from HBO and Max favorites like “Euphoria,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “The Last of Us,” but perhaps the most exciting reveal from the spot is some special first-look footage of the “IT” prequel series “Welcome To Derry” (which is still apparently a working title).
We first heard whispers of the series in 2022 before getting an official announcement that the project was in the works earlier this year. The new brand spot gives us a quick glimpse at the Max Original Series, which will debut sometime in 2025.

“Welcome to Derry” is set in the world of Stephen King’s “IT” universe and based on King’s “IT” novel while expanding on the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films “IT” and “IT Chapter Two.” The series will follow events leading up to the first film.
