Since 2019, Netflix has said it has been developing a live-action television series based on the “Resident Evil” video game franchise. Last year during Geeked Week, they introduced us to the series’ cast, and on Thursday, we finally got our first look at the series, which is set to debut on the streaming service on July 14 via a teaser trailer for the series.
The series tells an all-new story based on the legendary video game franchise and takes place nearly three decades after the discovery of the T-virus. In it, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and mind-shattering creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, her father’s chilling connections to the sinister Umbrella Corporation, and mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.
The series stars Lance Reddick (“John Wick”) as Albert Wesker, along with Ella Balinska (“Charlie’s Angles”), Tamara Smart (“A Babysitters Guide to Monster Hunting”), Siena Agudong (“No Good Nick”), Adeline Rudolph (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), and Paola Nuñez (“Bad Boys for Life”).
