Your Favorite All Hallows Geek Content of 2018

With just over a week left in 2018, I think its safe to say we’ve survived another year. 2018 was a huge year for All Hallows Geek and it gave me the opportunity to attend more events, share more stories with all of you, and make a ton of new friends along the way. In 2018 I somehow managed to publish nearly 400 stories and like last year, I figured I’d share with you the stories that put the most “eek” in your geek over the last year.

Hot Topic’s Beetlejuice Eyeshadow Palette

I never thought eyeshadow would be a trending topic on All Hallows Geek, but the announcement of Hot Topic’s Handbook For The Recently Deceased Eyeshadow Palette was the most visited 2018 story and racked up over 5,000 visits. Hot Topic announced the palette in June for a fall release and people emailed or commented throughout the summer dying to know when it would be released. The palette was finally released in early October and from what I understand sold out fairly quickly. Now the palette can be found on Amazon or eBay for two-to-three times the original price.

Ice Nine Kills’ “The Silver Scream” Pays Tribute To Your Favorite Horror Films

Post-hardcore band Ice Nine Kills released their fifth studio album “The Silver Scream” this past October, but leading up to the albums release the band dropped a number of singles and music videos, which revealed that the albums theme was going to be a horror fans delight.

Funko’s David S. Pumpkins Three Pack

Can you believe it’s been two years since we were first introduced to David S. Pumpkins? The character from a 2016 SNL sketch played by Tom Hanks was an instant pop culture phenomenon and when Funko announced a special three pack of Funko Pop! figures featuring Dr. Pumpkins and his Skeletons during Toy Fair New York 2018 people were clearly excited. For those interested, the Pop! figures are still available for purchase.

Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees & Alfred Hitchcock Among Five New Horror Pop! Figures Released This Fall

Continuing with Pop! trends, you all loved the fact that Funko was dropping a number of new horror themed Pop! figures just in time for Halloween. The five new figures, which were exclusives to various retailers included Cthulhu, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Pennywise, and Alfred Hitchcock.

Kellogg’s Halloween Cereals Revamped for 2018

Apparently, I’m not the only one who loves Halloween cereal season. This year Kellogg’s revamped its Halloween versions of Apple Jacks, Fruit Loops, and Chocolate Frosted Flakes with new marshmallow shapes. Historically the cereals’ marshmallows were a questionable bone shape, but for 2018 the cereals were filled with bats, ghosts, and what I think was supposed to be a Frankenstein.

99 Cents Only Store Teases 2018 Halloween Merchandise

Year after year, the 99 Cents Only Store continues to up its Halloween game and this year, the budget retailer took to Facebook to debut their entire line of Halloween and Day of the Dead collections via video. This new approach gave Halloween enthusiasts the opportunity to see everything the 99 Cents Only Store would be stocking well ahead of the holiday season and with knowledgeable employees sharing info about each of the pieces, you knew exactly what it was you were looking at. (If you’re reading this 99 Cents Only, do this again in 2019! I loved it!)

Spirit Halloween Unveils New Roaming Chucky Animatronic Prop

Though I basically deemed it Chucky on a Roomba you guys were loving the new Chucky animatronic prop from Spirit Halloween. The life-size talking prop featuring everyone’s favorite doll from the Child’s Play franchise spouts off six of his iconic phrases while roaming about the room at his own will.

Build-A-Bear 2018 Halloween Collection

Though the cuddly creation retailer didn’t offer up much in terms of new bears for 2018, you all couldn’t pass up on checking out the mix of spooky bears coming to your local mall this past September.

Spooky Food

When Netflix announced its new series featuring artist and baker Christine McConnell, The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell there was some noted tension in the online spooky food community. In some instances, fans were attacking other creators and overall it just didn’t seem like a positive experience, so I took the opportunity to highlight four other creepy food creators that folks may not have been aware of. Including The Homicidal Homemaker, Geeks Who Eat, The Necro Nomnomnomiconm, and Witchy Kitchen.

AVON’s Halloween 2018 Collection

The brand is older than anyone I know and yet somehow over the last couple of years its Halloween collection has made it into my top ten posts. Though this year’s selection was much smaller than 2017’s you all still really liked getting to see the annual Halloween collection before anyone else.

2018 was the craziest and most exciting year for All Hallows Geek yet and I am so thankful for all of you who continue to visit, share, and interact with All Hallows Geek. As I look ahead to 2019 I have a lot in store and hope to bring you even more exciting content in various mediums throughout the year. I’ll again be attending all your favorite cons and events and will be sharing experiences along the way while continuing to provide you with the latest horror geek news.
